Best informational turkey book I’ve ever read! Covers all aspects of bagging your first turkey, from proper equipment, to where to go. The author really takes time to explain the ins and outs of this great sport. The personal stories an insight are entertaining and informative.

A must read if you want to turkey hunt.

Great read for the beginner or the seasoned hunter. I have been turkey hunting for nearly 20 years now and wish this book was around when I started. Even now I still picked up valuable tips from this book. Folks out west have not the tradition of being able to get Turkey hunting knowledge passed down to us the way others have. This book can do that.

This book covers everything a beginning turkey hunter will need to know before setting out to match wits with America’s greatest gamebird, and the author has done a great job of putting it together in an enjoyable-to-read format. His writing style is easy to comprehend, and his stories are entertaining, as well as informative. I think any beginning turkey hunter would benefit from picking up this book, but then again, there’s plenty of helpful information contained within these pages for us crusty old veterans, too. Well done, Mr. Thompson!

If only I had this book when I first started hunting turkeys 15 years ago, I would have tagged many more Toms. Even as a veteran turkey hunter I learned a ton of new information from this book. Turkey hunting is relatively new to the Pacific Northwest since the first birds were planted here in the 1960′s as I recall. I encountered my first turkeys while deer hunting in 1995 and took up the sport a couple of years later. Of all the creatures I have hunted, turkeys are my favorite. Mr. Thompson has put together a fantastic book that describes strategies, equipment, calling techniques and turkey behavior. It is obvious that he put his heart into this effort. Again, it’s great to have a turkey hunting book with a Northwest theme to it. It’s the first I have seen. I will also add that this book is a great resource for hunting turkeys anywhere in North America. So entertaining and informative that I plan to read it again prior to the Spring hunt.
